ABOUT THE COMPETITIONS
The competitions are broken into two components. The first part requires the applicants to submit the following:
- An official entry form containing contact information (Name, address, phone number, email address, and name of High School).
- A 200 word entrance essay on becoming a chef and how a Le Cordon Bleu Program education would help them achieve this.
- A recipe based on the criteria of the specific competition that they will use for the final cook- off or bake-off
- A current high school transcript (unofficial transcripts are satisfactory)
From these application/essays, each school will determine 10 finalists to compete in the second part, the culinary cook-off/bake-off. It will consist of a 1 ½ hour kitchen practical in which the contestants were required to prepare and bake two apple pies for the December competition: Le Cordon Bleu Schools North America “Tarte aux Pommes” Scholarship Competition
